What to do after firewood is delivered

Here are our recommendations on what to do with your firewood after it is delivered.

First, Try to Keep the Wood off the Ground
Dry firewood burns cleaner. To keep your firewood dry, try to make sure water will not collect under the stacked wood. Many of our clients use shipping pallets to stack the wood on.

Stack Your Wood to Get Airflow
When you stack your wood, make sure that air can circulate through the logs, this will allow them to dry after they get wed from rain and snow.

Cover your Stacked Wood
Your wood will stay dry if you can cover it with a tarp. You can weigh down the tarp with bricks or stones. By protecting the wood from the elements, you will be able to start fires quickly and get them warming your home in no time.

As we mentioned above, winter is approaching. It’s a good idea to take a look at your firewood needs and place your order for delivery.

Give us a call at 631-994-1211, and one of our firewood experts will be happy to help arrange your firewood delivery.
